Sophie’s Coming to America fundraiser on July 9, 2023 was a big hit for Aid Africa’s Children. It was a perfect day at the beautiful Lily Lake Resort on July 9, 2023 featuring live music, raffles, an auction and food buffet raising funds for Sophie’s Creche.

Our guest of honor, Sophie Ndimande from South Africa  started the Lethabong Community Creche, affectionately known as Sophie’s Creche (nursery) and the AIDS orphans support group, the Soul Sparkles. She was given an enthusiastic welcome from her long time supporters and new fans.

This is our first fundraiser since Covid hit. It was great to seeing and talking to people who were coming together to help a great cause. We are most grateful for the many generous people and local businesses who donated their services, time, and energy to help us with our fundraiser.

In many ways, Sophie’s Coming to America fundraiser has re-invigorated our efforts and supporters to come together for the greater good. For Aid Africa’s Children and their donors to be able to celebrate the new kitchen and 3 major appliances (her first stove oven, her first industrial strength shelving unit, and refrigerator) they bought for Sophie with her, in person, was a rare and blessed event!

It became very apparent in in Aid Africa’s Children’s, “Sophie Coming to America Fundraiser” video showing the the Before and After of Sophie’s old Kitchen vs. New Kitchen, how much donor's support can make a difference. Supporters were offered a glimpse into Sophie’s world, between the kids at the creche baking their first cupcakes on their first oven (!) to her efforts with the Soul Sparkles.

We can’t do everything, but it sure feels great to do something, and know that your donations made all the difference in the world to Sophie, the Creche kids and the Soul Sparkles.

Thank you for coming with your wonderful generous hearts!
