Anti-Bullying Pledge for Pre-Schoolers

Sophie is worried, “bullying is alive and well and South Africa especially in high schools. People who go to school armed with guns, knives, and anything related to hurting or killing someone.” She’s witnessing an increase in violence. There’s more aggressive behavior among children. Children see parents fighting at home. Bullying at schools has escalated into fear.  

The questions, "what can I do, and how can I help" inspired Sophie to write an Anti-Bullying Pledge for pre-schoolers in words and action her students can understand.

The creche kids start their by reciting the Anti-Bullying Pledge. It’s meant to teach children awareness about how it’s not just hitting someone that hurts, words can be very hurtful as well. It’s also meant to create a discussion about bullying at Sophie’s Creche, which is a safe community which encourages kindness and helpfulness towards each other.
