Bringing Home Good Hygiene Habits

Sophie has always believed it’s important to teach kids practical knowledge they can apply in their lives, as well as prepare them with traditional early education training.

Especially since Sophie’s Creche does not have running water, cleanliness practices are a priority for her staff and students. Sophie felt the Good Hygiene Habits project was an important task to teach her pre-schoolers.

She wanted to get feedback from the students and parents about how those Good Hygiene habits were being applied in their own lives.

What do kids actually remember? And, what do they practice, if anything? Do they share that information with their parents? Do they share that information with their friends and other family members? And, yes, kids do talk among their friends, siblings, and parents to discuss new things they are learning.

Meet 4-year-old, Obonolo Wich whose name means gentle. She’s another example of applying what you learn at Sophie’s Creche at home!
