Sophie's WhatsApp Announcement Goes Viral!

It started out as an announcement on the WhatsApp parents group for Sophie’s Creche (French for nursery). It was a reminder to make sure kids attend Friday's special luncheon. Little did they know Sophie was planning a big surprise for the entire Creche!

Sophie was very excited about preparing hygiene goody bags for the 31 preschoolers and 5 teachers. However, Sophie would never even think of getting a bag for herself. She’s selfless like that.  Sometimes, kids will show up at her doorstep, asking for food because they’re hungry. Sophie would share what little food she had with others. And, for that reason, Aid Africa’s Children suggested she get a bag as well.

The contents of the bag thoughtfully reflect the hygiene practices Sophie has been teaching in her good hygiene classes. They include toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, soap dish, a cup for rinsing their mouths, a comb, detergent, and body lotion.

The kids are very familiar with how to use each item as they have been practicing, reciting, and demonstrating the skills they have learned in Sophie’s unique good hygiene class. The items are carefully placed in a plastic bag and then put in cheerful, bright-colored bags for easy carrying.
