When Sophie Met Bonnie

Sophie is greeted with a surprise gift from Bonnie, wife of Pastor Ron Ellis.

Sophie visited the New Christian Life House of Prayer during her first trip to Chicago in 2023.  There, she met Pastor Ellis, his wife Bonnie, and received a reception from their congregation overflowing with incredible warmth.

When Aid Africa’s Children’s LuAnn Wing and Alan Lyons,  commented on the how welcoming everyone was, Bonnie, replied, “it’s not just you guys, we treat everyone this way!"

Today that love and connection is still going strong!

Now, Sophie’s Creche has a new electric frying pan. Along with her everyday pot, she used to cook and fry 60-70 student meals a day, this now makes 2 cooking  containers in her kitchen.

When you only have on  pot, you choose wisely.  That one pot has to be very multi-functional. When you can get a second pot, a frying pan is very useful.

Pastor Ron Ellis and Bonnie Donate to Sophie’s Creche

The 4-liter electric frying pan is part of the generous donation by Pastor Ron Ellis, his wife, Bonnie and the New Christian Life House of Prayer in Chicago.  Previously, they also purchased 30 stainless steel bowls and 30 stainless steel dinner plates for Sophie’s Creche. This was life-changing. No more fear about hot porridge slipping off the plates and burning the kids.  No more eating off of plastic plates linked to cancer. Plus, by being able to afford the new dishware,  Sophie’s Creche is now in compliance with new government Creche laws eliminating plastic dishes.
